Web3 Services: September 2024 Updates

what you’ll learn

Recapping September’s Web3 Services updates, including: Web3 Services support for Arbitrum, and Compliance Engine for integrated risk management.

Web3 Services: September 2024 Updates

We’re excited to share two important launches this month: support for Arbitrum across our Web3 Services product line, and the launch of Compliance Engine for Programmable Wallets. Learn more below.

Web3 Services now supports Arbitrum

We’re excited to share that Circle’s Web3 Services product suite now fully supports the Arbitrum One blockchain! That means our Programmable Wallets, Gas Station, and Smart Contract Platform are now build-ready for Arbitrum.

Arbitrum One is a Layer 2 (L2) chain on Ethereum that employs rollups to batch transactions and settle them on the Ethereum blockchain, allowing it to handle up to 40,000 transactions per second. For builders, this means you can enjoy near-instant transaction settlement at scale with minimal costs, making it a highly effective platform for a variety of applications — ranging from gaming and social media to decentralized finance (DeFi).

Compliance Engine: integrated risk screening

In September, we launched Compliance Engine for Programmable Wallets. This new feature is designed to assist builders and businesses in navigating the evolving landscape of digital asset regulation. It offers customizable, automated compliance checks, eliminating the need for subscriptions to third-party vendors.

Compliance Engine’s first release offers UI and API access for Transaction Screening, allowing builders to:

  • Automate real-time checks to identify risky transactions
  • Customize rules based on risk type or severity
  • Access dashboard or connect webhooks for real-time reporting
